Geological, Geotechnical and Foundations
Geological:
Southern Area of Sacramento Mountains
High elevation watersheds recharge aquifers
Ground Water primary source of water
Average elevation 8630 feet
Water contains calcium, bicarbonate or calcium magnesium as well as higher concentrations of sulfate, giving water bitter taste
Geotechnical:
Top soil highly organic
Soil consist of silts and clays blending with decomposing vegetation and organisms
Vary from coarse to fine grained soil
Site Grading and Earthwork:
Camp sits in a flood plan
Can be costly
As little earthwork as possible
Exact size of piers will vary due to size and length of cabins
Foundation Support:
Building on pier and beam to reduce cost
Ideal for cold weather
Footings to be set below frost line (about 4 feet)
Footings to be concrete
